Wind Energy
HGC Engineering is a leader in the measurement and management of noise from Wind Turbine Generation Facilities with clients in Canada and around the world. We specialize in helping developers and municipalities address potential sound issues in communities surrounding wind farms.
We use sophisticated techniques to assess noise from wind power sites and develop accurate modeling based on sound engineering principles and our extensive experience. We also provide acoustical audits of new facilities, assessments for provincial and municipal approvals, and address noise complaints.
As an industry leader, we have produced a number of significant papers on the practical and theoretical aspects of wind farm noise measurements. We have also authored “Wind Turbines and Sound: Review and Best Practices Guide” for the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA). This document outlines noise considerations in the development of wind turbine generation facilities in Canada.
