STRUCTURAL VIBRATION

FLOOR VIBRATION PROJECTS

Canary Wharf
London, UK

HGC Engineering provided extensive Finite Element Modeling to allow optimization of the floor design for multiple towers in this prestigious development. Footfall-induced vibration due to walking in office and trading floor areas was examined to develop designs, with special care paid to aerobics studios and other high-activity areas.

Goldman Sachs Tower

New York, New York

To control the potential for human-induced vibration to case objectionable vibration levels, HGC Engineering examined the structural design for office floors, exercise areas and a spiral stairway to generate appropriate recommendations for a suitable design.

Art Gallery of Ontario
Toronto, Ontario

HGC Engineering was called upon to develop recommendations for controlling walking-induced vibration in a unique exterior spiraling staircase in this renovation and expansion of one of North America’s largest museums, a Toronto landmark.
