HGC Engineering was contracted to assess the vibration caused by construction of CN’s tunnel under the St. Clair River on Imperial Oil’s Research Centre in Sarnia, On. This involved monitoring hundreds of rail passby events and the design of isolation systems for sensitive equipment and the construction of a new conference centre isolated from the building structure (room within a room) for noise control purposes.
